Why We’re a Studio, Not an Agency
Entry 019
We want B2 to grow. We just don’t want growth to come at the expense of quality.
We like being close to the work. We want to know the people behind a business, understand what they’re trying to build, and have the time to give them our complete attention.
That’s what being a studio means to us. The name isn’t a claim that agencies can’t work this way. It’s a reminder of how we want to run our business with standards and integrity.
“Studio” not “Agency”
Agencies sometimes get a bad reputation for chasing growth for growth’s sake: more clients, more retainers, more headcount, more output. At a certain point, it can become harder to stay close to the work and the people behind it.
That isn’t a criticism of every agency, but it is something we’ve always wanted to avoid at B2. We’d rather grow more deliberately, protect the quality of the work, and make sure each client still feels like they have a real partner.
Work Philosophy
Our approach: keep things simple, only fix what’s broken, and do work we’re proud of.
That means we don’t overcomplicate projects or recommend changes to increase project scope. We take the time to understand the business, identify what actually needs attention, and focus our effort where it can make the biggest difference.
The goal is always the same: thoughtful work, clear decisions, and results we can stand behind.
Better Partnerships
Most of our clients have been with us for years. We know the names of family members, we understand the history behind important decisions, and we’re committed to growing with them.
That kind of relationship changes the work. We don’t have to relearn the business every time a new project comes up, and we’re often involved early enough to help shape the decision instead of simply executing it.
As the relationship grows, our role may shift from a one-off website or brand project into ongoing content, marketing, or conversion strategy.
Focused Strategy
Our job is to help clients decide what actually deserves attention.
Because we work across websites, branding, and marketing every day, we see patterns quickly. We know when a problem calls for a bigger change, when a few focused improvements will do more, and when the smartest move is to leave something alone.
That perspective helps clients avoid wasted time and budget, make better decisions, and move forward with more confidence.
Trusted Network
Over the years, we’ve built a rich network of U.S. based developers, photographers, filmmakers, media partners, and specialists we can bring in when a project calls for it. That gives our clients access to the right expertise without having to build and manage that team themselves.
Our role is to understand what a project needs, bring in the right people, and make sure everything works together. Keeping the core team small helps us stay close to the project while still giving clients access to a much broader range of capabilities.
Long-term Commitment
We’re building B2 for the long haul. We have no plans to sell it, step away, or turn it into something we no longer recognize.
We want B2 to grow, but not at the expense of what makes it good. We care more about the relationships we've built, the brands we grow, and whether we’ll still be proud of the work decades from now.
